MC Safety Firm (MCSF) is a dedicated consulting group committed to guiding trucking and bus companies towards complete compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Hazardous Materials (HM) transportation regulations.

Mark Oesterle


mark oesterleMark brings over 35 years of comprehensive motor carrier safety expertise to MC Safety Firm.  He served as the Division Administrator for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Wisconsin Division for 17 years, where he oversaw the administration and operation of FMCSA programs within the state.  During his tenure, he collaborated closely with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the Wisconsin State Patrol to implement national motor carrier safety policies, commercial driver’s license objectives, and enforcement actions aimed at enhancing highway safety.

His passion for highway safety is deeply rooted in his extensive experience, including his time as Team Leader of the FMCSA National Training Center in Washington, D.C., where he led training programs for over 5,000 law enforcement personnel annually.

Prior to his leadership role, Mark served as a Safety Investigator with the FMCSA Minnesota Division, conducting compliance reviews and investigations on motor carrier operations.  

Mark is a recognized authority on motor carrier regulations and the training of law enforcement personnel on safety and hazardous materials regulations.  He has received numerous accolades, including the FMCSA Safety Achievement Award for his involvement in the nationwide implementation of the Motor Carrier High Risk Prioritization for Investigations.  He also served for 4 years on the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) Training Committee.
